Spring Break

We're halfway into our spring break. Kailani decided to go to cheer camp for the second week. She is very close to mastering her back walkover, so she wants more time with the coaches.
Monday was picture day for Heat, so I picked Kailani up a little early from camp so she could get all dolled up for pictures. I hope they turn out nice.
On Tuesday Zachary and I went to the movies to see the Lego Batman movie. The movie was good and we were the only ones in the theater for a while.
I can't believe how fast Rebel is growing!
We got Rebel a lot of puppy chew toys to help with teething. Holiday wants all of her toys!

Hot Chocolate

Today I ran the Hot Chocolate 15K. I really enjoy this race. It's a challenge because there are a lot  of hills. I love using it as a training run. I finished in 1:44:22.

Always Training

This morning we did an 8-mile run around Mission Bay. The Mermaid run was going on there was well, so we cheered on the runners and "ran" into a few we knew.

Rock House

Tonight we went on a sunset hike up the mountain to the"Rock House." We started our hike at 5:30pm, so we would be at the top to see the sun set. On the way back down, it got pretty dark, so we needed to use our head lamps. The kids did really well and are looking forward to the next one.

USA Nationals

Zachary had a baseball game this morning. Kailani and I were able to watch about an hour of it before heading to Anaheim for the USA Nationals cheer competition. All five cheer teams performed today. Kailani's team did awesome! Awards were at 9pm for the level 1 teams. Our two level 2 teams perform again on Sunday, so we won't know how they did until tomorrow night.

The tiny team earned a silver medal and a trophy for earning the highest points in their division. Kailani's team (youth 1) earned a gold medal and a trophy for earning the highest points in their division. They actually ended up earning the most points out of all of the prep divisions for the day. I am so proud of them! Our other level 1 team (junior 1) earned a silver medal as well.

While we were at the cheer competition, the boys were at the final World Baseball Classic game in San Diego.

St. Patrick's Day

Today the kids wore green for St. Patrick's Day. One of the moms brought in green mustaches for the boys. They were allowed to bring in stuffed animals today and they also had a picnic lunch with the teacher.

Clear View, the other school I work at, was asked to film a music video to promote the work the district is doing with the visual and performing arts. Clear View as chosen as the school to film the video in honor of the principal's brother who recently passed away at age 26. He was an artist. Each grade level wore a different color shirt for the filming and we took a yearbook picture at the end of the day.
