Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

Drug-free week always ends with a costume parade to say "Boo!" to drugs. Each of the classrooms decorated their doors for red ribbon week. I was able to be at the school for Zach's parade.

This year we went trick or treating with a bunch of friends, and had a blast. Kailani was too cool for us. She went trick or treating with a friend.

Welcome Baby Aurora!

Today (10/30 Australia), my new niece came into the world. Welcome baby Aurora! A trip to Australia just went to the top of the bucket list. I hope we can make it there soon.

Color War and Panda Paddle

Today was a busy and super fun day! We started off with a color was with Kailani's J2 cheer team. The girls knew about the event, but didn't know what they were doing. It was a fun surprise.

We went straight from the color war to the panda paddle. Kailani had never been paddle boarding before, so we jumped at the chance to participate in a paddle boarding race. We signed up for the 1 mile race. We weren't quite ready for a 5K or a 10K. We've love to do this again! Money raised from the event supported the World Wildlife Fund.

 

CheerForce Showcase

Today all 4 CheerForce gyms showcased their skills at the annual showcase. It was really great to see the CheerForce family come together as a big family. The feeling was a lot different than that of our old gym.

McKenna, Lilli, Sadie, & Kailani all cheered at Heat together.

Ameera also cheered at Heat. Coach Alisha was their coach. She came to see her girls perform.

All of the athletes were presented with the program bow. Although each team has a bow, they will wear program bows on day 2 of a 2-day competition.

The teams did amazing! They are ready to compete next month!

Pumpkins and Sunflowers!

We've been so busy with moving and everything that we haven't had much time to think about Halloween. We decided to visit the pumpkin patch today. I heard that had a really beautiful sunflower field this year.

 

Kailani spent a lot of time carving her pumpkin. I entered it into a contest at work, and received a tote bag as a prize.

HydroStation

Today I chaperoned Zach's field trip to the HydroStation. The local water authority partnered with the Chula Vista School District. They teach kids about different careers related to water. They also did a bit of coding. I am glad I was able to tag along on this trip.

Fall Break

The kids always have 2 weeks off from school during the fall (Sept-Oct). Break is not so much fun for them since I am still working. We always try to squeeze a few fun things in though.

Since we just moved into our new home, we decided to check out our new pool. It wasn't very crowded today.

I've heard a lot about the Sugar Factory, but we've never been there. We decided to head there for lunch to see what all the hype is about. Coincidentally, we ran into some friends there.
