Holiday Bowl

This year we were able to get Holiday Bowl tickets for free. Utah and Northwestern played. Unfortunately, it was cold and raining. When we left at halftime, Utah was winning. Jason was following the game while we were having dinner, and Northwestern came back for the win in the second half.

We celebrated New Year's Eve at home with sparkling cider and Sprinkles cupcakes.

Training for Carlsbad

I have my first half marathon in quite a while coming up at the end of January. I'll be doing a double down challenge, which includes a 5K and then a half marathon (16.2 miles), so I want to be sure that I am ready.

I've been getting in a bunch of training runs with the girls. Kailani  even joined me for some miles!

Although I don't get vacation from work, I did have Christmas Day and New Year's Day off. I do have a break from Walden between sessions, so I've had some extra time to relax. The kitties enjoyed spending time with me!

All of the animals are enjoying our rest time!

We got some shopping done at the NEX.

Christmas Eve

We didn't do much for Christmas Eve. The kids got ready for Santa and spread Reindeer food on the lawn.

Christmas Party

Zach had his Christmas party at school today. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend. Luckily we have some awesome moms who share pictures. The kids all chipped in and got their teacher a $200 gift card to In N Out (his favorite place to eat).

Celebrating the Holidays

Today we hiked Cuyamaca Peak, which is the second highest peak (by 20 feet) in San Diego County. It was an 8-mile round trip with beautiful views. We celebrated Leilani's birthday and the holidays.

This evening, we met up for family night at the Shout House. This is the only time the Shout House is open to children. The piano players take requests and play/sing songs. They incorporated a lot of Christmas music and brought Santa for a visit. Becky's son has the opportunity to play drums on stage along with a song. It was such a great experience for him.

Wreaths Across America

Today we participated in Wreaths Across America at Rosecrans Cemetery. I think this is our 5th year.

Today was bring a friend day at Pride. Zach brought his friend Mikey. They had a great time at the 10th anniversary celebration of the school.

In a random search on the ATA site, we found out that Zach is ranked 10th in the state for combat weapons. Wow!

Kailani's Girl Scout Troop celebrated with a party.
