March Highlights

Random March fun...

Zach hanging out with his buddies at a Blaze Pizza fundraiser.

The dogs looking out the window. There are some dogs in the back that like to bark a lot.

Holly...

A wild animal (aka Koa)...

Zach and I found this interesting lizard walking home from school one day.

Nana posing with her bday package...

Pull ups...

The proud owner of an actual, working cell phone (OMG!)...

We went to Padres opening day this month too, but unfortunately I did not get any pictures:( Jason was in Portland for the week, so it was just the 3 of us.

Will Run for Chocolate...

Today I ran the hot chocolate 15K. I have a love/hate relationship with this race. It is very hilly, and I hate running hills. But...on the other hand, it forces me to practice running hills. This was my 5th year, so I got a 5-year medal (even though I had someone run for me last year because of cheer). I think this was my last year for this race.

USA All Star Championships

This weekend Kailani and I spent the weekend in Anaheim. Kailani enjoys our "girls weekends" because we usually share a room and hang out with Becky and Sadie.

We had some fun in too! We ate at Roscoe's Chicken n Waffles.
We went to the movies (5 Feet Apart).

We ate at Bubba Gump.

Although they had zero deduction performances, they walked away with 5th place (out of 10 teams). The girls are very discouraged this year. They are scoring high, but not high enough to make it into the top 3. They were hoping for a bid to Summit (cheer competition in Orlando), but so far it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

San Diego Half

This year was my 5th year running the San Diego 1/2 Marathon. The first two years I did the relay. There is a really nice legacy gift if you run the race consecutive years. My goal is to run the 1/2 marathon 2 more times so that I can earn the jacket. The relay races do not count toward legacy status.

During...

After...

After the race, I cleaned up and headed to a baby shower for my friend Jan. I've known Jan for many years. She lost her son to Tay Sachs disease several years ago. Her family will be blessed with another little girl in April. Kailani loved the Paris theme:)

ATA Nationals

Zachary went on a field trip to San Juan Capistrano with his class. Unfortunately, I was unable to go, but other parents shared photos.

After Zach got home from his field trip, we headed to Vegas so Zachary could compete in ATA Nationals. Since we left later in the day, we didn't arrive in Vegas until almost midnight. When we checking in to the hotel, they did not have any rooms with 2 queen beds (even though that's what we had reserved). Fortunately, they upgraded us to a penthouse suite! It was amazing. This was the first time we stayed at the Paris hotel. Kailani loved it! It is her dream to go to Paris (the real Paris) someday.

This was a huge  tournament, and there were a lot of participants. It was a great experience for him.

After the tournament, we talked around the strip. We didn't make it to all of the hotels the last time we were in Vegas. The kids wanted to go to the shark aquarium at the Mandalay Bay.

Zach wanted to taste the International Coke flavors at the Coca Cola Store.

On the way home, we stopped at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. We stopped at the Visitor's Center and the kids earned their Junior Ranger Badge. We took the 13-mile scenic drive, and stopped at a few places to look around. It was beautiful.
