This morning Zachary participated in a free football camp that took place at Qualcomm Stadium. The kids were separated by age and they ran several drills. He had a great time.
After the camp we stopped at the mall and ended up at the Lego Store. They now have a passport that you can have stamped whenever you participate in certain activities and whenever you visit other Lego Stores. Too bad we didn't have this when we visited the Lego Store in Orlando a few weeks ago.
I spent many hours today preparing raffle ticket envelopes for the 400 Otay Ranch football players and cheerleaders. Kona was my big helper.

Happy Birthday Kailani!
I can't believe we have a 9-year old! Happy birthday to Kailani. Per her request, we spent the afternoon at Jump Around. I was very proud of Kailani for attempting and completing the Sky Walk. The Sky Walk is an obstacle course suspended in the air that goes around the entire perimeter of the building. She did awesome! Zachary had fun too.

Today was my second day in my new job. I started at Heritage yesterday and I was as Clear View today. I am one of the part-time art teachers and I will be teaching at both schools throughout the year. I will spend every other week at each school. I look forward to the new adventure.

First Day of School
I can't believe today was the first day of 1st and 4th grades for the kids. Time has just flown by! This year Kailani is with all of her dual immersion friends because both 3rd grade classes were combined. It will be a little different for her to have 32 students instead of 16! This is the first year she will have a male teacher; Sr. Pena-Herrera.
Zachary is in Sra. Rincon's class; Kailani's 1st grade teacher. We are very happy that so far Zachary has had both of Kailani's previous teachers.
The first day of school went very well and both kids were very excited.
Today was a half day, so after school, we headed to the beach. Nicole, Madison, and Alexander are visiting from Maryland and we wanted to get to see them before they leave.

New Kitty
Our family wouldn't be complete without another kitty! Today we adopted "Cocu" from East County Animal Rescue. We haven't come up with a different name yet, but do plan to change her name. She is 2 years old. She was relinquished from a home where a woman owned 12 cats and wasn't able to care for them. The rescue organization was very excited for her to go home because she was the last of the 12 to be adopted. Typically adult cats with a lot of black coloring are not adopted very quickly. Earlier in the week, we stopped in to Petco and just fell in love with her. She is so sweet. We'll be heading to the vet for the first time this week to have her all checked out.

Bolt to the Q and IW Banquet
This morning I ran a 10K; Bolt to the Q. The race was around Qualcomm Stadium and ended on the 50-yard line. It was very hot and humid, so it was a tough run.
This afternoon was the Island Warrior year-end banquet. It was great to get together with the IW family, although right after we ate lunch, rain started falling. We had to take the trophies and run. Because of the quick exit, I didn't have a chance to take pictures. I was able to take a picture of Zachary with all of his gifts. I also took a picture of the photo Kailani had taken in the photo booth.
The past two days have been unseasonably rainy. Yesterday we actually broke a 108-year record for the rainiest July ever.

Aquatica
A few years ago, SeaWorld purchased the water park that used to be Knott's Soak City. It is now known as Aquatica. We had never been there before, so we decided to go today. Kristin, Kaia, and Layla went along with us. The kids had a blast!

Cow Day
Today was Cow Day at Chick-fil-A, so naturally, we dressed up like cows and went for a free lunch. We met up with Juliette, Jason, Eva, and Mary at the Santee location so we could go to the spray park at Santee Lakes afterwards.

Disney Day 7 - Polynesian
Today we just had the day to hang out. We decided to do the Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at the Polynesian Hotel since we had never done that before.
We played a round of miniature golf at the Winter Summerland golf course and then headed back to the hotel to pack up.
This evening we headed back to the Ploynesian for the luau.

Disney Day 6 - Hollywood Studios
Today was our last day in the parks. We visited Hollywood studios. The entire park is all decked out in Frozen stuff.
We split up at the beginning of the day so the big kids could go on the big rides. Jason, George, Makenzi, Kailani, and Jaylynn went on the tower of terror and the rock n roller coaster. Becky and I took Zachary and Payton to visit characters and to watch the Frozen parade.
We purchased the Memory Maker package, so we have access to all of the pictures they took of us at all of the parks. It was worth it for all of the pictures on the rides:)
We had lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater restaurant. We sat in cars and watched a movie as if we were at the drive in.
After lunch we went on some more rides and visited with characters.

Kailani was being grumpy again!
We had dinner at the Hollywood and Vine Diner. It was not a character dinner, but it included tickets to the evening Fantasia show, which was amazing.
