Holiday Baking
We were putting together a holiday cook book for work that required photos. The kids helped me make pumpkin roll. They enjoy baking.

Rainbow Warriors
Tonight we went to the University of Hawaii-San Diego State football game. Hawaii is here every other year, and we like to go support the theme. We expected SDSU to win, but UH pulled it out 31-30 in overtime.
Merry Christmas!
We had a very mellow Christmas as usual. The kids opened their gifts and we hung around the house. We had our annual Christmas dinner at Fuji Grill. It was a rainy day.

So much to be Thankful for...
Today we spent Thanksgiving together. Since it's just the four of us, we don't like to cook a big meal. This year we decided to go to Duke's for their Thanksgiving meal. Duke's opened in La Jolla not too long ago, but we haven't been able to check it out before now. The food was good and the view was beautiful.

I am Wonder Woman
Today was the inaugural Wonder Woman run in San Diego. I planned to run it with friends, but many had to cancel at the last minute. I ended up purchasing one of their bibs for Kailani so she and I could run together. This was her second 10K.
Kailani finished off the day with a 5-hour CPR and First Aid training. She passed the test with a higher grade than many adults! Even though she went through and passed the training, she isn't officially certified due to her age. She completed the course so she has the training for babysitting, and so she could earn the first aid badge.

Santa Clarita Showdown
Today Jason and Zachary left bright and early to head to LA for another taekwondo tournament. Zach participated in four events and did well. There were 6 kids in his division, but not all competed in each event.
Prior to the event, we were able to order a "Wanted" poster that they used to decorate the venue.
While the boys were in LA, Kailani and I had Girl Scouts. We had a regular meeting and then a badge workshop. The badge was "outdoor art apprentice," but it included animals. Kailani loved it.

Color Run
Today Kailani's school did a color run. I volunteered and was responsible for dumping yellow powder on the kids as they ran by. I think I got more color than the kids did! It was a fun event, and a nice way to end the day before Thanksgiving break.

Horseshoe Mountain
Today the kids and I hiked Horseshoe Mountain to celebrate one of our friend's birthdays. Unfortunately, Jason had to work. The kids did awesome. It was a 4-mile round trip hike. One of our trainers build a table and chairs at the top. Everyone who climbs the mountain signs their name, even the RebelKids. We have some really great hikes in our backyard.

Los Coyotes
This weekend I ran Ragnar-Los Coyotes. Ragnar is a team relay race. Los Coyotes is an Indian Reservation about 1 1/2 miles from us. We camped in the "village" and each ran 3 times; a green loop (3 miles), a yellow loop (3 miles) , and a red loop (8 miles). We started on Friday morning at 8:20am, and finished around 3:30pm on Saturday. One person runs at a time, and we run all through the night until each person runs all three loops.
I did this race 2 years ago. We've learned a lot since then. This year we brought RVs instead of tents. We also had 2 teams, so we would have a partner to run with. It did get down to 29 degrees at night, and it was extremely dark. It was tough running in the mountains in the dark. You really can't understand how something like this could fun unless you experience it. The friendship that we all have is amazing. It is such a blessing to experience this together.
Thursday...
Friday... Run #1 at 9am (yellow loop) - 59 minutes
It was cold!!
Run #2 at 9pm (green loop) - 45 minutes
Saturday: Run #3 at 6am (red loop) - 2 hours, 29 minutes
The finish...
