Red Senior

Today Zach earned his Red Senior belt! After this, he will be a Recommended Black Belt.

Choreography

In the cheer world, choreography day is exciting! This is the day (or days) that the team learns the routine for the competitions. Since Kailani is on two teams, she had choreography for both. Choreography for Ferocious (J2) was on 8/2-8/4, and choreography for Riot (J1) was on 8/23-8/25.

Ferocious - Since I was out of town for work, the team mom helped out with hair and make up.

After choreography on the last day, we celebrated with a pool party. This house was amazing (6,000 square feet!!).

Riot

SoCal Songham Classic

Grand Master M. K. Lee was in town for the SoCal Songham Classic tournament that our school hosted at Southwestern College. This was the first tournament in a series of four. The four medals fit together to make one image. Zachary is hoping to earn all 4.

Today wasn't Zach's best day. He was upset for some reason, and would not compete in 2 of the 3 events he was signed up for. After talking with Master Berry (the owner of our school), he ended up competing in combat sparring, and taking 3rd place.

Zach has made some really great friends at Pride.

Last year they gave out collector pins at each tournament. This year, the medals have a spot for the pins to go in. They look really nice!

Whiskey Girl

Tonight I met a few friends for dinner at Fred's in Old Town. We ended up at Whiskey Girl downtown. What a fun evening!

Visit with Grand Master M. K. Lee

Today was a special day at Pride. The kids were invited for a workout with Grand Master M. K. Lee. He is one of the very few people who has earned a 10th degree black belt. The kids were in awe. After the session, he signed their belts!

Triple Crown...Again

Today I ran the AFC 1/2 marathon. Of the three 1/2 marathons required for the triple crown, this is my least favorite. I already completed the triple crown in 2017, but I offered to do it with Becky since she never had a chance to complete it. I think it's time to move on to something new:)

Last year I celebrated big for my birthday. This year, I had a few outings with friends to celebrate.

Casa Lago

Since our old house sold very quickly, and our new house wasn't ready, we had to move into a temporary place. Luckily, there is a community here that offers short-term leases. We were able to rent a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom townhouse for August and September. Unfortunately, the monthly rent was more than we were paying for our mortgage at the old house. But...we didn't have a choice. They accepted pets, and we needed a place to stay. It was actually a very nice place to stay. We got lucky!

I think the pets all enjoyed the townhouse!

SOLD

We officially SOLD our house. It was a great house, and it served us well for 8 years. It's time for bigger and better things though...

We had to put most of our items in storage because we couldn't take that much to the townhouse.

We use about 1/4 of the first storage unit for Legos!
