6th Grade Promotion

Today was Kailani's 6th grade promotion. They rented out a local church, which was a really nice venue for the event. I was supposed to be Las Vegas for WGU academic meetings. I am so thankful I was able to miss those to be a part of Kailani's special day.

 

Girl Scout End-of-Year Party

Today we started off the day with a 10K up to Mt. Soledad. I've done this run before and it is a challenge. The view is beautiful though.

For their end-of-year party, Kailani's Girl Scout troop decided to go to Jump Around and then have lunch at the Corvette Diner.

We have a few girls who are not returning next year, so we wanted to spend most of the money the girls raised. Unfortunately, Kaia is one of the girls who is not returning. They will be moving to Florida in a few days:(

Memorial Day Flags

Every year, Zachary's Cub Scout pack participates in the flag placement event at our local cemetery. They place flags at the gravestones of military members.

A Day of Celebrations

This morning I participated in a mini Spartan event to celebrate our friend, Ana's, 50th birthday.

 
Today Zach earned his camo belt at the Pride belt ceremony. He is moving up in rank very quickly.

Today Kailani also had her cheer banquet to celebrate the end of her cheer season.

Zachary also had his Cub Scout award ceremony, where he earned his Bear rank. He is now a Webelo.

Happy Birthday Zach!

I can't believe our little boy is 9 years old! Time goes by too fast. We enjoy every moment. Today we surprised Zach with tickets to WWE Monday Night Raw. He had no idea he was getting the tickets, so he was very excited. He also got a Pride hat and a shelf for his belts and medals.

 

Heritage Chalk Festival

Today the 3rd and 6th graders participated in the annual chalk festival. I was able to take some time off to help out. This year's theme was famous art. Both kids did a Frida Kahlo piece.

 

 

This year's festival was named after one the grandfather of Heritage Children. He always helped with the chalk festival. He recently passed away.

New Cuisines

This morning I met up with some friends to celebrate Marcela's birthday at Panera. 

Then, I headed to Kailani's Girl Scout meeting. The troop met to finish up the New Cuisines Badge. They each made a dish from either a different country, or part of the US. They had a great time trying new things.

I finished up the evening with a movie (Life of the Party).
