Knotts Merry Farm

Today we took advantage of the deal for military at Knotts Berry Farm. Military members plus one family member were free and additional guests could purchase tickets at a discounted rate.
The kids went on a few rides, but mostly we walked around and looked at everything in the park. We waited in line for over an hour for a new ride (Voyage to the Iron Reef), which was pretty cool.
Zachary liked the chickens and roosters running around in the parking lot.

Zachary wanted a Charlie Brown shirt.

On our way home, we stopped at Bubba Gumps for dinner.

The Giving Tree

Today Zachary volunteered with the Cub Scouts at the mall. He was asking shoppers to donate toys for children in need. He did a great job asking and got several people to agree to purchase a gift (including us).

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot

We started off the day right, with a family turkey trot. Jason and the kids did the 5K. I did the 15K because I really need to prep for my half marathon in January. Although it was a little chilly and rainy, we had a great time.

 Before the race!
After the race!
Official 15K time 1:44:53/14th place in my division

We spent the day at home, watching tv. This is something we don't do very often. Then, we had a nice turkey dinner. The kids ate everything!

Cooler Weather

Kailani woke up this morning with a few extra in her bed:)
Today we took some of the kids' old books to the book drive at the YMCA. I won't let them get rid of many books because I am addicted to children's books, but I did let some go:)
This is what 60 degrees looks like in San Diego!

Flag Banquet & Ronald McDonald House

I started off the day with an awesome 7-mile run. I love the Sunday run days with friends!
Today was Zachary's flag football banquet at John's Incredible Pizza. Zachary was presented with his gifts and the kids played games for a little while. We are thankful for a great season, but glad it's over.
This afternoon I headed to the Ronald McDonald House at Rady Children's Hospital with our Fit Miss Training group to make and serve dinner to the families who have children there. We were inspired by one of our friends, whose daughter was found to have a brain tumor last year at this time. The family was very grateful for the Ronald McDonald House during the time Maddie was in the hospital. In addition to providing dinner for 175 people, we were able to give Maddie and her family  $1000 to spend on their Make a Wish Disney cruise they will be taking next month.

Tree Lighting

This morning we dropped the shoe boxes off at one of the drop off locations.

Then, we headed up to MCAS Miramar. Jason and Zachary got a hair cut. Zachary is so grown up now. He told the lady exactly how he wanted his hair cut.

After the hair cuts we hung around for the Christmas tree lighting.

Today the kids packed shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. They really enjoy making boxes for other kids.

Family Art Night

This month our school hosted 2 family art nights. I was in charge of planning and organizing the events. The kids were able to attend and participate in the art night tonight. We had a woman come from a local art studio and she taught the kids how to draw with pastels. The kids really enjoyed themselves. We had 77 participants tonight.

Regionals

Today was the regional cheer competition. We were up bright and early to do hair and get all dolled up. The girls did awesome!!

 Prayers before performing!
They placed 3rd, although we all agree that they deserved better than that. It was a great season and we are looking forward to many more.

Gift bags I made for the girls:)

QBowl

This morning I joined Fit Miss for a special workout in honor of one of the girl's daughters who has a brain tumor. Last year on the day before Thanksgiving, she went in for an MRI and the very next day she was having surgery for a brain tumor. The family has gone through a lot over the past year. The husband is in the Navy and is deployed for a year.
We held the workout to raise money to be able to prepare and serve a dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House supports families who have children in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House helped Maddie's family so much over the past year that we want to give back. We will be cooking and serving dinner to 175 people next Sunday.
This afternoon was the QBowl!! It's the 4th year the boys have made it to this Super Bowl of Youth Football. Unfortunately, we did not take home the 1st place trophy again. The boys lost to Los Toros 24-0.
I made these cute little gifts for the boys!

 Shaking hands before the game.
2nd place!
