Happy St. Patty's Day!

It is starting to get warmer and it's great that it stays lighter longer. We can take the dogs for walks in the evenings again!

Insect Mania!

Today was family day at the Natural History Museum and since we now have passes, we decided to go. They have a themed family day once per month. There was a lot going on at Balboa Park today. It was the kick off day for science week. Balboa Park had several tents set up with science activities for the kids. We'll be at Petco Park next Saturday to celebrate the culminating event.
There was also a St. Patty's Day fair going on that we checked out for a little. The kids enjoyed looking at all of the Irish booths and smelling the yummy food.

Beatiful Day

It was such a beautiful day today, so after I picked the kids up, we decided to have dinner outside. Jason was working late, so it was just me and the kids. Zachary celebrated St. Patty's day at school today, so he was sporting his shamrock hat:)

Chick-fil-A

Kailani has half days all week because of parent-teacher conferences at school. This afternoon she went on a field trip to the movies (to see The Oz) with the YMCA. She was very excited to go on a field trip.
When we picked her up, we spent some time browsing the books at the school's Scholastic book fair. We got a good deal on a ton of books. All books were buy one get one free! Unfortunately, we noticed when we got home that we bought 15 books. We missed out on another free book:(
Tonight at Chick-fil-A, The Living Coast Discovery Center (formerly The Chula Vista Nature Center) was there to talk about their programs. They brought along a tortoise and a snake. The kids got to pet both. The kids are looking forward to the magician's visit to Chick-fil-A in two weeks.

ACE Awards

This morning was Heritage's quarterly ACE awards ceremony and we were invited to see Kailani receive an award. Unfortunately, Jason was on duty so he was not able to go. Kailani received an award for citizenship.

Monster Mutt

Today we went to the Build and Grow event at Lowe's. The kids made a monster truck (Monster Mutt) and enjoyed shopping in the store afterwards.

Warm Weekend

This weekend we had beautiful weather. Of course there was some Lego building. On Saturday it was so warm the kids played outside in the water table.
