A camp out was scheduled for the Cub Scouts this weekend, but it was cancelled due to the threat of rain. Zachary wasn't going to go anyway because we have so much going on this weekend. But...he still needed to participate in camp fire skits and songs in order to complete his Tiger requirements.
They called a special pack meeting tonight so the boys could have a "camp fire." Zachary had a good time and he met his requirement. Kailani even participated in the skits.

More Padres
This morning I had a baby shower for one of the Fit Miss girls. This is her third boy! Unfortunately, I was not able to stay very long before heading to Petco Park for the Padres game. We'll be spending a lot of time at Petco Park this season!
Jason decided to join Twitter so he could post our picture on the big screen! We saw it up there a few times.
Zachary got a hair cut tonight in the comfort of our very own bathroom:)

Prepping for La Jolla
This morning I got up early to get in some miles. I attempted 10 miles, but was only able to finish 9 because we had to get Zachary to his game. I need to be ready for next week's La Jolla Half Maraton!

Rum Run
Today I ran the Rum Run 10K. It was a little challenging since I'm not feeling well, but I was able to stay consistent with my pace and finish in 1:04:55 (according to my Fit Bit...the race was not officially timed).
The kids did the Tiki Run. Zachary finished in 2nd place and Kailani came in 4th!

Skate World
After Zachary's baseball game this morning we headed to Skate World for a Girl Scout event. I think Kailani has only been roller skating once before (at Makenzi's birthday party), but I don't think Zachary ever has. It was a lot of work, but they eventually got the hang of it.

Padres
Since we had a lot going on for opening day, Jason and Dave went to the game and the kids and I stayed behind. I guess it was a good thing we didn't go because they got beat 14-0. Here's Zachary at his game. He got to play 1st base.
We had all planned to go to the third game in the series tonight, but Jason ended up having watch. The kids and I went to the game alone. Unfortunately, the Padres got beat again.

Run, Drive, Sleep? Repeat
24 friends, 4 vans, 2 days, 1 night, 200-mile relay, unforgettable stories!
Thursday afternoon I met up with several of the Fit Miss girls to decorate our 4 Ragnar vans. That afternoon, 2 of the vans took off for Huntington Beach...
We had 2 Ragnar teams of 12 ladies. There were 6 of us in each van. Two vans headed to Huntington Beach on Thursday afternoon. The other 2 vans met up with us on the route Friday afternoon.
The first 2 vans from each team met up on Thursday night for dinner at Seasons52.
Our van started the race at 6am on Friday morning. Here we are at the start line.
The 6 of us each ran a leg of the 200(ish) mile route to Coronado.
From 6pm-7am, we had to wear reflective vests. The runners also had to wear head lamps and blinking tail lights during their night runs. I ran my second leg around 9:30pm - 5.3 miles through Oceanside.
We finished up and passed the baton to the second van around 11:30pm and headed out to eat dinner.
We got about 2 hours of sleep in the van and our runner 1 headed out on the route again at 4am.
Here we are before my leg 3 (Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach) - 6.3 miles. Over the 2 days I ran a total of 18.5 miles.
Our third legs finished around 11am in the La Jolla area, where we met up again with our van 2.

Checking off leg 1 - 6.9 miles.
Meeting up with both van 2s at the main exchange to switch from runner 6-7.
While our second van was out running the course, we had some time to eat, change, and get ready to run again. We started our second legs around 7pm on Friday night. From 6pm-7am, we had to wear reflective vests. The runners also had to wear head lamps and blinking tail lights during their night runs. Two of our runners are 7 months pregnant!
We crossed the finish line with our final runner (#12) at 6pm on Saturday. We waited around for about an hour and a half and ran across the finish line again with the final runner from the second Fit Miss team.
Partying with the other van 1 at the finish line waiting for both van 2s.
Our 12 medals fit together like a puzzle. One set says "RAGNAR RELAY" and the other set says,
"WE BELIEVE THAT BEING A RAGNARIAN IS ABOUT MORE THAN BEING A
RUNNER; THAT MISERY LOVES COMPANY AND HAPPINESS IS “ONLY REAL WHEN IT’S
SHARED”; THAT THERE IS A BADASS INSIDE ALL OF US; THAT EVERYONE DESERVES
TO BE CHEERED AT THE FINISH LINE; THAT TUTUS MAKE YOU RUN FASTER; THAT
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE VAN STAYS IN THE VAN; THAT ADVENTURE
CAN ONLY BE FOUND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IT; AND THAT A LITTLE SLEEP
DEPRIVATION IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO WATCH THE SUN RISE WITH OUR
FRIENDS. TOGETHER WE RAN 200-ish MILES. TOGETHER WE CAN ACCOMPLISH
ANYTHING.WE ARE RAGNARIANS."
