The start of the transformation...
3/11/15 Update: The floors are finished!!
Since we were doing the floors, we decided to pull out the shelving in the entertainment center. We are going to put a door on and make it a closet since we don't have one downstairs. We replaced the carpet on the steps with a darker color.
We got 2 new toilets for the bathrooms so we could replace them while the old ones were pulled up. We've now decided that we want to remodel the bathrooms and we are going to try to do it on our own (all except the shower/tub). I am excited that we are finally going to get some of the projects done that we've been wanting to do for a long time.

San Diego Half
Today I ran my first half marathon relay! My friend Becky asked me to run it along with her. I started off the race and ran 6.55 miles from Petco Park, down Harbor Drive, to Liberty Station. I handed off the baton to Becky and took a shuttle to mile 13. When she passed by, I ran with her across the finish line. We finished the half marathon with a time of 2:06:57.
I'm ready to sign up for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon relay in May!

Chelsea's Run
Today we participated in Chelsea's Run. This is an annual run (recently partnered with Girl Scouts) to raise money for Chelsea's Light Foundation in memory of Chelsea King who was killed while out running in Poway five years ago. We participated in the run last year and it was pouring down rain. Today was a gorgeous day!

Hail in San Diego
This morning I got up bright and early to do Body Back before work. Today was assessment day so we had our "after" pictures taken. Although I didn't lose much weight during the 8 weeks, I did lost 9.75 inches off my body. You can tell the difference in the picture. I ran three 10Ks. And...I haven't had one diet coke! I can't wait until the next session starts.
It was a very rainy weekend and it was actually hailing in San Diego today. I had to take a picture so everyone would believe me later.

Sea 180
Tonight was our traditional Body Back end of session "Little Black Dress" dinner. We went to Sea 180 Coastal Tavern, which is right on the beach in Imperial Beach. I have never been over in that area, but it was very nice. I had a new babysitter watch the kids (Jason is still on nights) and the kids really liked her.
Our fearless instructor Amy (in the middle).

Fancy Nancy Event
Today we went to the Yellow Book Road for a rare Fancy Nancy Event to meet the author (Jane O'Connor) and the illustrator (Robin Preiss Glasser). We've met the illustrator of the book several times, but never the author. We were told this was a rare occasion. Since the author and the illustrator of the books live on opposite coasts, they do not usually tour together. They are touring together for their 10th anniversary. The read their first book. The had the kids walk with "perfect posture" while keeping a banana on their heads. At the end, we got to take a tour of the tour bus.
As always, we had a great time. Unfortunately, the owners of the Yellow Book Road are retiring. They are hoping to sell the store to someone who will keep it a children's book store. We are hoping so too.
